phytopaleontology has three plot-, space- and time-planes which come together at the end of the novel to conclude not only the book but the whole trilogy. Šulej's dystopian vision of the future has a dark, cyberpunk atmosphere and imagines the city of Bratislava as an overcrowded megapolis. The author ponders evolutionary patterns not only of the society but of the whole planet. Among them aremigration, climate change, new technologies, genetic manipulation and other challenges the humankind is facing. The novel makes use of elements of different literary genres and /post/modern techniques.
