Kovalyk is a fiction writer, playwright and social worker. She is the director of the Theatre without a Home that features homeless and disabled actors. She has published the collections of short stories Neverné ženy neznášajú vajíčka(Unfaithful Women Hate Eggs, 2002) and Travesty šou (Travesty Show 2004), and the novels Žena zo sekáča (The Second-hand Woman, 2008) and �����������Ჹ������ň�� (The Equestrienne, 2013), shortlisted for the Anasoft Litera Prize 2014. Her latest book is the short-stories collection Čisté zviera (Pure Animal, 2018).
