It might seem that comics are very much theback-markers, compared to comics in the surroundingworld. To a certain extent that’s true. iadoesn’t have any intensive comics past. But lately ithas been trying all the more intensively to catch up onwhat it missed! In this small country in the middle ofEurope, a number of examples of comics taking variousapproaches have emerged. And what is interesting isthat these are mainly original authors’ works. Comicsmust carry on an intense struggle with publishers andreaders, who are not much inclined to enter unchartedwaters. Despite that, in our milieu the graphic noveland comics have not given up and are committingthemselves to battle with constantly new challenges.The collection you are holding in your hands seeks tobring you the most interesting of what has emergedon the comics scene in recent years.
