Slávka Rude-Porubská (born1977) lives inMunich. She isthe director of the City Libraryin Dachau. She studies German studies and Journalism at the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, ia. After graduation, she was also schooled and received qualification in international cultural management.In2011, she obtained her PhD.from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in library science. The topic of her doctoral work was cultural and grant police for literary translations in Germany.
She is a literary translator from into German and from German into . She is active in organizing literary events,writingreviewsand literary science texts, and alsoinpublishing.Aside from her day job, she is also an editor for the monthlyLiteraturSeiten München.

In 2007, she participated in a week-longthe translation workshop inLiteraturhaus München.In2014, she was part of the projectPoesie der Nachbarn – Dichter übersetzen Dichter in the translation residency houseinEdenkoben, whereia was a guest. She translated into Germantwo poetry collectionsof MilaHaugová; and her translations ofthe poems of ErikOndrejička, JurajKuniak, ErikJakubGroch, MichalTall, DanaPodracká,JurajBriškár and others were published in literaty magazines and anthologies.Together withRudolfJurolek, she has translatedpreložila lyrical texts ofMichaelDonnhauser into ,and withMonikaRiedelová, she has prepared and publishedan edition of the literary magazineRevue svetovej literatúry, focusig on the inter-cultural literature of German-speaking countries, and translating texts ofMaríaCecilliaBarbettaand FeridunZaimogla.
