Alla Germanovna Mašková studied at the Faculty of Arts of the Lomonosov University in Moscow between 1959 and 1965. She also defended her candidate's theses on Czech satire there in 1973 and her doctorial thesis on naturism in 1985. Since 1973, she worked at Lomonosov University as an associate professor at the Department of Slavic philology, teaching Czech and literature. In her research of prose, she is interested in naturism (Ľ. Ondrejov, D. Chrobák, M. Figuli, F. Švantner) – she introduced its philosophical and literary characteristics in the monographies Slovackij naturizm (30-40-je gody 20 veka) (2005) and Slovenský naturizmus v časopriestore (2009) –, in the reception of literature in Russia (J. Kollár, Ľ. Štúr). She co-authored the books on the history of literature in Russian Slovackaja literatura 1945 – 1985 (1987), Slovackaja literatura 20 stoletija (2003). She published the anthology of poetry Golosa stoletija (2002) and prepared the anthology of the novella of the 20th century Dunajskaja mozaika (2008). She has transated the prose and poetry of J. Jesenský, M. Figuli, M. Urban, P. Jilemnický, A. Plávka, L. Ťažký and others. In 2011, she received the P. O. Hviezdoslav Prize for translations of authors into Russian and for her work within Slavic literary science.
