Texts by contemporary authors performed by well-known actors in non-traditional places: such is the series of public readings Literature Night, an event that strives to increase the public interest in contemporary European literature.
Many European and non-European cities participate in Literature Night.
This year marks the 18th edition and on 18 September a record number of 22 European books will be presented. literature will be represented by Nicol Hochholczerová’s This Room Is Impossible to Eat. Actress Zuzana Zlatohlávková will read excerpts from the book in (House of the golden star), a painter’s studio in Hradčany’s Nový svět neighborhood.The towns ,andhave also chosen the excerpt from the book for Literature Night. In some places the readings will be interpreted into Czech sign language.
