At the Leipzig Book Fair, Nicol Hochholczerová and Ivana Gibová will present their works

The International Leipzig Book Fair will take place from March 27–30, 2025.

Authors from over 40 countries, along with more than 2,000 exhibitors, will be featured at the event. The latest and award-winning books by writers from ia will be displayed at the Literary Centre booth in Hall 4 (E 300).
Nicol Hochholczerová will present the German translation of her book on March 27 at 11:00 AM on the Global Perspectives stage. The German edition, titled Dieses Zimmer kann man nicht essen, was published in 2025 by danube books, translated by Marie-Theres Cermann.

Ivana Gibová will present her book barbora, boch & katarzia on March 28 at 11:00 AM on the Global Perspectives stage. The German edition of the book, published in 2021 by the Drava Verlag in Vienna, is titled Barbora, Himmelhergott & Katharsis, translated by Marie-Theres Cermann. The author will also read excerpts from her latest book č첹© (Grandmother©, Vlna, 2023), which won the Anasoft Litera Award 2024.

An integral part of the fair is also the largest European reading festival Leipzig liest (Leipzig Reads) with over 2,000 events at more than 300 locations. Both authors will participate in a discussion on March 27 at 7:30 PM at Café Moh, where they will talk with translators Stefanie Bose and Marie-Theres Cermann about the topic Literature from a Female Perspective / Slowakische Gegenwartsliteratur aus weiblicher Perspektive.

The co-organizers of the authors' presentations in Leipzig are the Institute in Berlin, the Honorary Consulate of ia in Leipzig, and the publisher danube books.
This year’s motto for the Leipzig Book Fair is "Words Move Worlds." The guest of honor is Norway, with nearly 50 authors, including Karl Ove Knausgård, whose books have also been translated into . Two Nobel Prize laureates in Literature will also be attending: Belarusian author Svetlana Alexievich and Polish writer Olga Tokarczuk, along with German-speaking literary star Sebastian Fitzek.
