Irena Brežná Receives Hermann Kesten Prize

On August 17th,Ìý°µÍø½ûÇø-Swiss authorÌýIrena BrežnáÌý°ù±ð³¦±ð¾±±¹±ð»åÌý³Ù³ó±ðÌýHermannÌýKesten Prize, awarded byÌýthe German PENÌýCentre. Ralf Nestmeyer, vice president of the centre, has statedÌýthat in case of Brežná, the centre is not just awarding an author whose work reflects her own immigrant experience, but rather an author who has committed part of her life to tirelessly defending justice and freedom, and who gave voice to dissidents andÌýpersecuted people in theÌýEastern Europe. The prize comes with a financial award of 10.000 EURO. The awarding ceremony will take place in the State Theater ofÌýDarmstadt on November 18th. You can find more information on the .Ìý
