The story of the extremely sensitive visual artist Miriam who returns to her hometown of Bratislava after decades of life overseas, allows the author to focus on several topics: shaping of personal identity, searching for a way out of lonilenss, guilt and forgiveness, and broken inter-generational relationships. She pays attention to how the terrors of wars leave their imprints on the fates of the next generations and the often-present preshadowing that precedes them. Philosophical reflections of existential questions are part of the plotlines of the main character.聽
