Necklace/Choker is a novel with a fragmentary composition which Jana Bodnárová uses both as a visual and narrative principle throughout her sensitive yet expressive work. The story is loosely inspired by the life and work of the painter Ernest Špitz. Thanks to the author's longstanding interest in enlivening the rusty corners of history, it gains beautiful strength to search for familial and social parallels to the present times.
