The social novel is a freeretelling of "Horskápentalógia" (The Mountain Pentalogy), e.i.five theatre plays: Loj, Mária Sabína, Angeleo, Ohne ohnivé, Je dobré vycítiť. The story of the separated siamese twins and their mother living in an abandoned sanatorium amidst dark mountains is surrounded by strange circumstances, pointing toward a mysterious past. In theupside down world, however, even believable things can happen. The author achieves comicality by portraying presence in a grotesque way and by deforming the literary and non-literary reality. The novel is a playful bow to magic realism.
