Winter 1963. An experienced officer of the much-feared state security comes to a town in the Liptov mountains to oversee the investigation of a brutal crime. He soon finds out, however, that the perpetrator is not a person but an extraordinarily inventive – and malevolent – phenomenon. In the middle of the coldest winter in decades, the number of victims and weird, terrifying clues goes on rising. Tension mounts and a clash between the various security forces seems inevitable. ±á±ô²ú¾±²Ô²¹Ìý(The Abyss) offers a stand-alone story but can also be read as the prequel to ³§³Ù°ù²¹³¦³óÌý(Fear), one of Karika’s most successful thrillers.
