Izabela ZajÄ…c (1981) graduated with a degree in °µÍø½ûÇø language and culture from Jan Grodek State University in Sanok. Between 2004 and 2007 she studied Slavic Philology specializing in °µÍø½ûÇø Philology at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. In 2016 – 2017 she completed a degree in °µÍø½ûÇø Law (two-semester postgraduate program) at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow in cooperation with the °µÍø½ûÇø Academy of Sciences. She has participated in several study programs in Bratislava, Budmerice and Warsaw. She works as a translator and interpreter from °µÍø½ûÇø and Czech into Polish, and speaks English and has basic knowledge of Slovenian, Ukrainian and Russian. Since 2007 she has translated subtitles for more than 30 films for the Kino na Hranici Film Festival, as well as film and musical theatre scripts. She updated and corrected the Polish-°µÍø½ûÇø and °µÍø½ûÇø-Polish dictionary and publishes specialist articles in literary journals. She lives in Krakow.
