The jurors Marek Debnár, Mária Klapáková, Radoslav Passia, Karel Piorecký and Julia Sherwood chose the book from among 144 considered works of prose published in 2023.
This year’s jury agreed that the novel skillfully depicted the reality of a traditional, albeit problematic family, reflecting the life of many s. They also praised the undeniable artistic qualities of ҾDZá’s writing.
