Mária Modrovich will spend two weeks at a residency at the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin.
The international residency house Literarisches Colloquium Berlin (LCB), located by Lake Wannsee, will again host authors from ia in 2025. From April 7th to 21st, writer Mária Modrovich will have the opportunity to focus on her work in the beautiful and peaceful natural surroundings.
Mária Modrovich is the author of five books of prose. Her most recent novel, Deň noc voda (Day Night Water), was published in 2024 by the Vlna publishing house. It explores themes of female infidelity, motherhood, and the crisis of middle age. Rozhovor s členkou kultu (Interview with a Cult Member, Vlna, 2019) was adapted for the stage in both ia and Poland. š (Flashback, Vlna, 2017) was among the top 5 finalists for the prestigious Anasoft Litera Award and was nominated for the EU Prize for Literature.
The author’s participation in the residency is funded by the EU Program - Culture Moves Europe.
