After readings in Cologne and Vienna, KatarÃna Kucbelová will present her novel The Bonnet to readers in Frankfurt and Freiburg.
The book Čepiec / The Bonnet has already been translated into seven languages. A discussion with Kucbelová will take place on 5 December at 7:30 PM at Frankfurt's Central Library. Eva Profousová, the translator of the novel, which was published in German as Die Haube – Impressionen aus einem Randgebiet (Ink Press, 2023), will host the event.
The evening is organized in cooperation with the German-Czech and German-°µÍø½ûÇø Economic Association (DTSW), the German-°µÍø½ûÇø Cultural Club Frankfurt e.V. (DSK), and the °µÍø½ûÇø Literary Centre.

The following day, on 6 December at 6:00 PM, both the author and the translator will participate in the Diskurs Festival in Freiburg. The event, titled Osteuropäische Perspektiven – Literatur, Geschichte und Politik für ein Europa der Zukunft (Eastern European Perspectives – Literature, History, and Politics for a Future Europe), will feature Kucbelová alongside Ukrainian-German author Katja Petrowskaja and Belarusian writer Volha Hapeyeva, who will also read from their works.
