Four poets will present their work at the Evening of  Poetry in Berlin

Lauded authors Mária Ferenčuhová, Katarína Kucbelová, Dominika Moravčíková and Michal Tallo will present their poetry in the Poetry House Berlin.

The event entitled Bleibt noch der Raum zwischen den Wörtern – Poetry will take place on Tuesday 8 October at 7.30 PM in Haus für Poesie in Berlin, housed in the architecturally unique cultural center Kulturbrauerei (Knaackstraße 97).

The literary evening focused on readings from German translations of poems written by the contemporary poets will be moderated by the philosopher, poet and musician Asmus Trautsch. Stefanie Bose will interpret.

Mária Ferenčuhová will read poems from her book Ohrozený druh (Endangered Species) translated by Ulrike Feibig, which came out in German under the title Die Fähigkeit zur Abwehr(hochrothLeipzig, 2023).

Katarína Kucbelová, author of five poetry collections, will read from her most recent poetry composition K bielej (Towards White, Skalná ruža, 2022). Stefanie Bose translated a selection of poems. In 2023 the author has received the Zlatá vlna poetry award for the book, and she was also the laureate of the Václav Burian prize.

Dominika Moravčíková was nominated for the Zlatá vlna award for her debut poetry collection Deti z Hamelnu (Children of Hameln, Skalná ruža, 2020) in 2021. In 2022 she received the Václav Burian prize for poetry. In Berlin she will read her poems published in the Václav Burian prize brochure, translated into German by Sabine Eschgfäller andDavid Voda.

Michal Tallo was nominated for the Václav Burian prize in 2020. InBerlin he will read poems from his most recent poetry collection Kniha tmy (The Book of Darkness, Literárna bašta, 2022), translated into German by Sabine Eschgfäller andDavid Voda, and published in the Václav Burian prize brochure.

The event is supported by The Literary Centre and The Institute in Berlin.
