The civic association Bázis will present twenty new literary translations from �������� into Hungarian.

Festival visitors will be able to personally meet �������� authors, e.g. Balla, Richard Pupala, Jana Juráňová, Pavol Rankov, Vilam Klimáček, Silvester Lavrík, Ivana Dobrakovová, Jana Bodnárová, Barbora Hrínová, Ľudovít Ódor, Zuzana Šmatláková, Peter Šulej, Zuzana Husárová and their books. The translations of books by Alta Vášová, Etela Farkašová, Michaela Rosová, Simona Smatana and Pavel Vilikovský will also be discussed at the presentations.

The topics of the debates will be writing about history, work of EU Prize for Literature laureates from various countries, ��������ia included (Richard Pupala, Ivana Dobrakovová), authors’ collectives and about the relevance of literary anthologies, or the sustainability of print media. Translators Tünde Mészáros, Norbert György, Tímea Pénzes and Erika Vályi Horváth will be included in the presentations.

This year, the festival’s guest of honour will is Jón Kalman Stefánsson, one of Iceland’s most important contemporary authors, who will receive the Budapest Grand Prize from the mayor of Budapest. The focus this year will be on French literature. Visitors will have the opportunity to encounter the works of renowned French writers, poets and illustrators.
